Sources: Nuggets outbreak threatens GSW game

Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone has entered into the NBA’s health and safety protocols, a source confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.

Assistant David Adelman will be the acting coach while Malone is away from the team. His absence was first reported by The Denver Post.

Denver’s Jeff Green, Bones Hyland and Zeke Nnaji also have entered COVID-19 protocols, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, with more players set to be tested Thursday.

The Nuggets may have trouble reaching the required eight active players to play against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, sources told ESPN.

Malone joins NBA coaches Doc Rivers (Philadelphia), Frank Vogel (Lakers), Monty Williams (Phoenix), Billy Donovan (Chicago), Chauncey Billups (Portland) and Mark Daigneault (Oklahoma City) in COVID protocols.
